Danish office furniture manufacturer Duba-B8 has delivered furniture and interiors for a variety of interior design projects in the Maersk Group worldwide.
One of the newest projects is the furnishing of Maersk Oil Research and Technology Centre in Doha, Qatar. This project stands out through its distinctive interplay between design and function, where the furniture plays a key role. This is evident by the spaces that primarily are created using the furniture as room dividers. It is the height, shape and consistency of the furniture, which help to delimit the areas. The color range is kept in white, black and orange and the blue of the Maersk logo.
“The research center should express the creative and innovative nature of the research work that is being conducted. Yet, the space should be in line with Maersk’s no-nonsense culture. The research center should not be ‘just another office’, but something that attract attention, signifying Maersk’s presence at QSTP (Qatar Science and Technology Center)”, says Abdulrahman Al Emadi, head of Maersk Oil Research and Technology Center.
