The armchair PP550 from 1947 is one of the furniture designer Hans J. Wegner’s most iconic works. Thanks to the characteristic backrest with rods that are spread out in a fan shape, the chair was soon called The Peacock Chair, and as such, the chair has become known all over the world.
Less known is, on the contrary, that the chair in 1953 had a fully upholstered cousin, who of course was called The Upholstered Peacock. At that time, the chair – also known as PP521 – was only produced in very few copies, but on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Hans J. Wegner’s birth, joinery workshop PP Møbler now relaunches this model which will arrive in stores in autumn 2014.
