Table in a Jar

“Table in a Jar” is the curious name for a small, easy side table, which the Swedish furniture designer and manufacturer Albert Larsson designed in 1959. The table is characterized by its distinctive design, which in particular includes the round ball feet in wood and the sophisticated three legs.

Albert Larsson Möbelfabrik in Tibro, Sweden, originally produced Table in a Jar until 1964. The table is today highly in demand at auctions and among collectors. Now the Danish manufacturer Brdr. Petersen Polstermøbelfabrik in Viby has acquired the rights to this elegant table, and the reaction of the market strongly suggests that it is again facing a successful launch.

The tabletop and the ball feet are produced in oak, walnut or teak, while the frame is plated or black coated steel. The table is 44 cm high and has a diameter of 40 cm.

The name Table in a Jar origins from the fact that the table originally was delivered in an unconventional round packaging. Of course, this is also true now because the table comes in a drum made of fiber material, closed by steel bands.
