The exhibition Skud på Stammen 2016 (Newcomers), brings forward suggestions on the future Danish furniture design and is intended as a laboratory for design, craft, production and sustainable materials.
Previously, the museum Trapholt laid floor to boost the exhibition, but this year it will take place at A. Petersen Collection & Craft in Copenhagen.
The 15 exhibited pieces of furniture each represents a collaboration between a designer and a cabinetmaker student.
Some selected prototypes will be produced in a small series and will be auctioned at Bruun Rasmussen Auctioneers of Fine Art.
FDB Furniture offers assistance and support services for some of the participating designers and cabinetmaker students, and also offers to manufacture some of the furniture pieces.
The exhibition opens on Thursday 6 October at 17-19 and can be seen in the gallery’s opening hours Wednesday to Friday 12-18, Saturday-Sunday 10-16, up to and including Sunday, December 18.
