The Danish designer Cecilie Manz was awarded this year’s Crown Prince Couple’s Cultural Award, which every year falls to a significant Danish or Greenlandic artist who has made an outstanding performance in Danish culture, and from whom great results can be expected in the future, both in Denmark and internationally.

Cecilie Manz was awarded for being a significant innovator of Scandinavian design, always creating design in a class of her own with a recognizable tone, and constantly surprising by using new materials and formats. Her work ranges wide, from furniture and lighting to glassware, kitchenware and jewelry. On her client list she has, among others, Danish furniture manufacturers Fritz Hansen and Fredericia Furniture, and German furniture company Nils Holger Moormann.

In addition to the honor, the Crown Prince Couple’s Cultural Award consists of a cheque of DKK 500,000, and a kaleidoscope made by artist Olafur Eliasson.
