Kvist Industries manufactures the Mikado chair, relaunched by Coop in 2014. It was designed in 1996 by furniture designers Foersom & Hiort-Lorenzen.
The Danish subcontractor of wooden components and finished furniture for the furniture industry, Kvist Industries, had a terrific 2014. The revenue increased by 40 percent, and the final result showed a profit of 7.7 million DKK after tax, where it last year was a loss of apprx. 0.5 million.DKK.
Kvist Group has production facilities in Slovakia, Latvia and Denmark, and during 2014, the number of employees grew from 353 to 514.
One reason for the increase is no doubt that several of Kvist Industries’ customers during the year have had successful launches of new furniture ranges. For example the retail group Coop, which has expanded its range of classic stick chairs and other wooden furniture, and furniture manufacturers Fredericia Furniture and Hay, who has introduced a number of new models produced at Kvists’ factories.
