Furniture is piling up at Design Trade.
From 24th to 26th August 2014, the design and interior fair Design Trade was held for the third time at Bella Center in Copenhagen.
Seen with furniture industry eyes, there is good reason to rejoice the development. The number of established furniture companies had increased significantly compared to last year, and the furniture exhibitors had been allocated to a much better position in the exhibition center’s attractive Center Hall.
Also present at the fair were a large number of small independent cabinetmaker workshops and furniture designers, and it’s an absolutely positive that the industry’s undergrowth of ambitious companies and entrepreneurs in this way supports the fair. If this trend continues, Copenhagen hopefully will regain its position on the international map of furniture fair destinations.
In 2015, the fair changes its name and will henceforth be called Northmodern. The new identity marks the fair’s ambition to reach beyond the Bella Center and involve Copenhagen design shops, galleries, showrooms and museums, in order to profile the Danish capital as an attractive design destination.
