Here at the end of the 100th anniversary of one of Denmark’s most famous furniture designers, Hans J. Wegner, the Copenhagen auction house Bruun Rasmussen is organizing a large-scale auction of Wegner furniture, including both the rarest of its kind and all the beloved classics.
“We have the pleasure to end the Wegner anniversary with a special auction, showing the span of his design. Over the past years, we have been looking for Wegner furniture, made by the original manufacturers. The mission has been successful and we now put up to the largest selection ever on the market of his most iconic furniture – from the earliest and rarest ones from the late 1930s to the beloved classics from 1940-50s and his very latest furniture from end of the 1980s. At the auction, will copies of “Dolphin Chair”, “China Chair”, “The Chair,” “Papa Bear Chair”, “Peacock Chair”, “Flag Halyard Chair,” “Crocodile Cabinet” and many, many more, “says Peter Kjelgaard, head of the design department at Bruun Rasmussen.
A total of 165 items will be offered at the auction, which will take place on Wednesday, 3 December in Copenhagen. There are views 20-24th November.
