Lars Larsen buys Actona Company

One of Northern Europe’s largest furniture companies – Actona Company in Holstebro, Denmark – has been acquired by Lars Larsen, who owns the worldwide bedding chain Jysk and several Danish-based furniture chains and companies.

Actona Company produces and sells furniture to retailers in over 90 countries around the world and has some of the largest retail chains on  the customer list. Actona has  revenue of appr. 1.1 billion DKK and has over 1,200 employees. The company will be a part of Lars Larsen Group, which besides Jysk also consists of furniture chains, Ilva and IDEmøbler, furniture wholesaler company Interstil and outdoor furniture manufacturer Scancom.

Actona Company was founded in 1981 by Orla Dahl Jepsen, who died in 2014. Actona’s CEO, Torben Villadsen, is now ooking forward to continuing as part of the Lars Larsen Group: “I am convinced that the new ownership will only strengthen Actona. We have an owner who has a long-term perspective and wishes the best for the company, and we can now continue the good cooperation we have always had with customers and partners,” says Torben Villadsen.

Lars Larsen becomes the majority shareholder in Actona, while the current Executive Board invests in equities.
