Italian rattan icon revived on Danish hands

During his career, the Italian furniture designer and architect Franco Albini (1905-1977) created a wide range of elegant and minimalist items of furniture, some of which today are exhibited at MoMA in New York. Among his designs is also wicker furniture, and one of the most significant items is the Ottoman from 1951.

In tough competition with other manufacturers,  the Danish rattan furniture specialist Sika Designs has managed to acquire the rights to Ottoman from Albini’s heirs. This multifunctional piece of furniture is now relaunched at the market and comes in two versions with diameters respectively 55 cm and 65 cm.

With the reintroduction of Ottoman, Sika Design continues its line of relaunched classic design rattan furniture, which already includes furniture by famous designers as Arne Jacobsen, Nanna and Jorgen Ditzel, Viggo Boesen and others.
