Humor in Danish Design


September 13, Trapholt opens the most extensive exhibition of Kay Bojesen.

The exhibition Kay Bojesen – The humor of Danish design invites you into the exciting universe behind the innovative craftsman who had a playful attitude.

Kay Bojesen’s wooden figures have become a mark of Danish design and culture.

Especially known is the 1951 monkey with the long, arms and the bright spot on the stomach.

It has been manufactured in Denmark since 1992 by Brdr. Krüger.

Kay Bojesen had significant attitudes to the society of that time, ranging from pedagogy to industrialization.

The exhibition highlights Kay Bojesen from his teachings at the silversmith Georg Jensen to the international success of wooden toys in the 1940s and 50s.

Experience Bojesen’s colorful personality illuminated in three themes play, craft and innovation.

The exhibition terminates June 10, 2019.
