Holmris buys furniture recycling company

Danish office furniture manufacturer Holmris+Flexform now adds a new branch to its business. It happens with the acquisition of an ownership interest in the young Aarhus company 3R Kontor, which is building a thriving business with the purchase and sale of recycled furniture for offices. 3R stands for Reuse, Recycle and Refurbish, and the furniture is sold through 3R’s furniture store and webshop.

“Our customers have long sought an opportunity to get rid of their used office furniture in an orderly way, and here the 3R concept fits perfectly to the need. And when 3R also manages to make money on selling the used and reconditioned furniture, this is an excellent match, “says CEO Niels Henrik Lauritzen, Holmris+Flexform. He expects that Holmris+Flexform will eventually take over the majority of 3R Kontor.

It is not least the future agenda of sustainability and circular economy, which has stimulated the market for used office furniture. In addition to the used office furniture trade, 3R Kontor also runs a significant donation activity where schools, institutions and voluntary organizations are offered to pick up furniture for free, and this activity is also well in line with the Holmris+Flexform values. “To us, it is also about social and green responsibility,” Niels Henrik Lauritzen adds.
