“This we’ll call empathic design!” That was the reasoning of the German Design Council – Rat für Formgebung – when they decided to honor the high chair Flexa Junior Chair with the prize German Design Award 2015. The chair is produced by Danish children’s furniture specialist Flexa4Dreams and has been designed by furniture designer Hans Sandgren Jakobsen.

The prize to Flexa Junior Chair was awarded in the category “Excellent Product Design – Home and Decoration”. The design council attached great importance to the ergonomics and comfort of the chair, and to the fact that it can fulfill multiple requirements in line with the child’s motoric development. Furthermore, the chair’s timeless Scandinavian design with the combination of plastic and solid beech was emphasized.
