Design student Jeannett Højer has created the rocking daybed Nonno with equal shares inspiration from summer hammocks and from Hans J. Wegner’s famous Circle Chair.
Will 14 Danish furniture design students be able to follow in the footsteps of the world-renowned furniture designers Hans J. Wegner and Børge Mogensen, both of which would celebrate their 100th anniversaries in 2014? This question may be answered by the audience at the London Design Festival to take a position when the young students from VIA TEKO Design & Business invite to their exhibition “On Your Shoulders”.
The students have been inspired by Danish design from the period 1940-60, as they have tried to reinterpret it into modern innovative furniture.
On Your Shoulders is displayed at Tent London, Hall T2, Old Truman Brewery in London from 18-22nd September 2014.
The exhibition is a part of the campaign Danish Made, which is a joint exhibition initiative for educational institutions VIA TEKO Design & Business, Aarhus School of Architecture and KADK (The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, Schools of Architecture, Design and Conservation).
