Furniture company gets royal visit

Michael Kvist is looking forward to the royal factory visit in early June.

Dannebrog – the national flag of Denmark – will certainly be hoisted to the top in the small West Jutland town of Årre on June 3rd. This day one of the city’s major companies – furniture producer Kvist Industries – will be visited by HM Queen Margrethe II, who visits the region during her annual summer cruise.

During her visit, the Queen eill inspect the factory, which produces many well-known and popular Danish furniture classics and newer design furniture, designed by renowned furniture designers such as Børge Mogensen, Hans J. Wegner, Nanna Ditzel, Poul Volther, Arne Jacobsen, Piet Hein and Hans Sandgren Jakobsen. Kvist delivers complete furniture for famous furniture brands such as Fritz Hansen, Fredericia Furniture, HAY and Muuto. Recently, Kvist has helped to relaunch the old FDB Furniture, which was originally intended as furniture for the general public.

“Although we produce furniture for the people, it is a great pleasure for us that HM The Queen shows interest to us,” says Michael Kvist, sales director and co-owner of Kvist Industries.

Kvist Industries puts more than 10,000 chairs and 1,000 tables on the market every week, partly from the Danish factory in Årre and partly from the factory in Latvia.
