With nearly 130,000 visitors annually, restaurant Madklubben (The Food Club) in Vesterbro, Copenhagen, is the most frequented Danish restaurant. Therefore, it is not unimportant which chairs the many guests have to sit on, as a good seating comfort is of great importance for the enjoyment of the meal, the company and the whole restaurant visit experience.
The choice fell on the Søborg chair from Fredericia Furniture, originally created by furniture designer Børge Mogensen in 1950-52.
For Madklubben, a version of Søborg was chosen with the seat and backrest shells in varnished oak with a powder coated black steel frame. This version has an industrial expression that fits well into the restaurant’s raw, urban style.
