Master cabinetmaker Ejnar Pedersen has passed away, 96 years.

Ejnar Pedersen worked and argued about the value of perfection in the manufacture of furniture.

His uncompromising approach to craftsmanship was the foundation for fruitful collaborations with many decades of leading architects and designers.

Hans J. Wegner, Poul Kjærholm, Finn Juhl, Nanna and Jørgen Ditzel and Wilhelm Wohlert are some of the wellknown names who have had the pleasure of working with Ejnar Pedersen.

Ejnar Pedersen founded PP Furniture together with his older brother Lars Peder Pedersen in 1953.

Today, the company is run by Ejnar Pedersen’s son, Søren Holst Pedersen, and grandson Kasper Holst Pedersen.

Ejnar Pedersen was an institution on the Danish furniture scene, where his fight for excellent craftsmanship was as respected as the result of the same.

Master cabinetmaker Ejnar Pedersen frequently met to enter into dialogue with the future generations of cabinetmakers, architects and designers.

May the memory of Ejnar Pedersen’s struggle for excellent craftsmanship remain a useful compass.

Honoured be the memory of Ejnar Pedersen.

I always told the journeymen not to come and ask if ‘this is good enough?’

If in doubt, that’s not good enough.

It must always be perfect.
