Finn Juhl Prize goes to 3 furniture designer couples

In memory of the world-renowned Danish furniture designer Finn Juhl (1912-1989), the Danish fund Wilhelm Hansen Foundation every year assigns the Finn Juhl Prize, which is given to individuals who have made a special effort in furniture design, preferably concering chairs. The effort may be as an architect, a manufacturer, a writer, or the like.

At the most recent prize-giving in May 2015, no less than 6 furniture designers were selected as winners – and remarkable it was that they not only have in common that they are all trained in furniture design, but also to the two and two are pairs, both private as married couples and professionally as studio owners.

The three couples are Christina Strand and Niels Hvass, who run the studio Strand+Hvass,  Stine Gam and Enrico Fratesi, who own the studio GamFratesi, and  Line Depping and Jakob Jørgensen, who each have their own business, but often work closely together on specific tasks.
