Danish profiles at Clerkenwell

The London-based event Clerkenwell Design Week has over a few years become a major attraction for both British and international design enthusiasts, and the streets of the former industrial area teemed with life during the 3 days from 20 to 22 May, when the 2014 version was going on. Among the approx. 250 participating design brands 3 Danish names were found: BoConcept, Fritz Hansen and +Halle .

BoConcept was represented with a booth in the 3 storey exhibition center Design Factory, which is housed in an old factory and is one of the design week’s central places. The Clerkenwell booth is organized by BoConcept’s London flagship store on Tottenham Court Road, and it has over the years become a great success. Store Manager Tiziana Sacco reported that there had been several thousand visitors during three opening days.

As in previous years, Fritz Hansen had decided to open a pop-up showroom in a vacant shop located centrally in the district. The showroom, which is an offshoot of Fritz Hansen’s permanent London showroom, presented the company’s latest news as the Drop Chair by Arne Jacobsen and the Analog table by Jaime Hayon. Fritz Hansen’s UK Sales Coordinator, Martha McNaughton, welcomed an inrush of hundreds of daily visitors and noticed that this year the number of non- British guests from, among other places, the Middle East was increasing.
