During week 36, 18 young designers took the furniture exhibition Images of Danish Furniture in the House of Industry in order to transform it into a working design studio. It is the association Danish Design Makers (DDM), which was at work, and during the week, the young designers have been working to make the sketches to the finished pieces of furniture that the association’s members will exhibit at the furniture fair in Cologne in January 2015.
Many curious exhibition guests and visitors in the House of Industry were this week able to see pencils drifting over the paper, copper wire being bent, and wood splintered in an adaptation of yet unfinished thoughts. For DDM, the workshop has been a unique opportunity to invite outsiders into the exciting, but normally closed designers’ world.
