The three major Danish furniture and interior magazines, Bo Bedre, Bolig Magasinet and Costume Living, have just awarded their annual design awards. One of the many awards is named Comeback of the Year and was given to the Søborg chair, which is designed by Børge Mogensen and produced by Fredericia Furniture. The jury’s reasons for choosing the Søborg chair said: “It is simple, cool and extremely refined. It is Børge Mogensen in a new way – more light, elegant and organic than we know him.”
The Søborg chair was initially launched in 1950. It is unusual because Børge Mogensen normally not worked with moulded plywood.
The Søborg chair is available with the base in solid oak or steel, and the seat comes with or without upholstery. The shell is available in several colors and there are many possibilities for combining frames and shells.
Fredericia Furniture has reintroduced the Søborg chair to the market in 2014.
