In 1949, the Danish furniture designer Ole Wanscher created his perhaps most famous piece of furniture: The sophisticated armchair Colonial Chair, which was inspired by British colonial architecture. It is especially distinctive because of its at once delicate and strong wood construction and the boldly curved armrests.
Less known is the two-seater version of Colonial Chair, which Ole Wanscher designed in 1964, and which has now been relaunched by Carl Hansen & Søn.
The Colonial Sofa has loose cushions and the seat is located freely in the frame with a bottom of webbing. The double legs in the center provide the sofa with the strength required.
Like Colonial Chair, the Colonial Sofa is available in walnut, cherry, oak and mahogany, either with lacquer, soap or oil-treated surface. The sofa comes with cushions of either fabric or leather.
