Arne Jacobsen’s first piece of furniture

This chair is Arne Jacobsen’s first furniture design.

In 1925 Arne Jacobsen participated in the International Exposition of Modern Industrial and Decorative Arts in Paris. The just 23-year-old student won a silver medal for this contribution.

The original chair was made of beautiful sculptural natural rattan and was simply called Paris Chair.

Today it is manufactured by Sika Design in ArtFibre – a material which makes it possible to use the chair outdoors all year round.
