Think of the Orient Express, the luxury liner Queen Elizabeth II or the Concorde aircraft – thereby creating images from a time when travelling was associated with great luxury and comfort. It is exactly such impressions that inspired architects 365north when they designed the new Aero lounge chair for Wendelbo Interiors.
The frame, made of powder-coated steel with oak armrests in black stained or natural, appears graphically tight, but softened, however, by the soft and rounded corners. The loose, down-filled seat and back cushions have a volume that gives Aero design weight. The backward sloping seat emphasizes a comprehensive impression and adds a dynamic and resilient element to the chair.
As an attachment to the chair, a voluminous footstool that can also serve as an extra seat is avaliable.
Aero is available with several different types of textiles and leather. As a starting point, the designer has generally dressed it in a slightly decadent and sexy velvet, which enhances the associations for aircraft and train seats from before the world went mad.
