Poul’s four-poster bed and Finn’s chieftains chair under the hammer

A four-poster bed of Poul Henningsen and Finn Juhl’s iconic “Chieftains Chair” are among the highlights when Bruun Rasmussen arranges an auction of rare furniture and design classics.

For example, a unique four-poster bed designed by Poul Henningsen designed for the in-laws at Dronninglund Castle in North Jutland.

Additionally, on the auction is a sofa by Flemming Lassen designed in 1942 and “The Hussar” armchair from 1935 also designed by Flemming Lassen.

Finn Juhl’s “Chieftains Chair” from 1948 is also included in the auction.

The chair is inspired by objects and weapons from Africa and Oceania and carried out by the permanent partner Niels Vodder.

The auction also presents chairs attributed to the architect Henning Hansen, which dates from around 1928.

All in all, a beautiful mix of Danish design furniture from 1920 to 1970.

The auction will be held on 27th September.
