On 27 September, two unique pieces of furniture will be auctioned.
It is two pieces of furniture by Finn Juhl.
The unique “dream record” is appraised at 26,000-53,000 Euro.
And an extremely rare FJ-44 armchair is appraised at 40,000-66,000 Euro.
The unique palette-shaped coffee table with the characteristic light blue table top, hotplate, glass lid and yellow storage room with a jalousie veil was made as a special order in 1945 by carpenter Niels Vodder and today stands as a testimony of the architect’s great range and significance for Danish design in the 20th. century.
The FJ-44 armchair was designed for the Cabinetmakers’ Guild Exhibition 1944 and is only manufactured in 12 copies by cabinetmaker Niels Vodder.
Only a handful of these rare armchairs are known today.
Finn Juhl’s coffee table and FJ-44 armchair can be seen at the inspection at Bruun Rasmussen in Bredgade from 14th to 18th. September.
The auction will be held on September 27th at 6 pm.
