The sun shone and the flags flapped in the small town of Årre in West Jutland, when the city’s main company – the Kvist Industries furniture factory – had a fine visitor on 3 June. It was Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II, who visited the company in connection with her annual summer cruise with the royal yacht Dannebrog.

The Queen was received by the company’s CCO, Michael Kvist, who showed her around the factory, where tabletops for a number of famous architect designed tables are manufactured. The Queen was very interested and knowledgeable about the different wood types and finishes, which of course invited to a continued dialogue over a cup of coffee.

During the visit, the Queen was presented with a gift of a newly developed lounge chair named Nestor, designed by Tom Stepp. The Queen was very fond of the chair, and she reached to try it before continuing in her busy schedule.
