Noble teak meets an industrial mat

Niels Gammelgaard has experimented with materials and form together with the cabinetmaker Kjeldtoft.

A bench has come out of it – which is in display at the Cabinetmakers’ Autumn Exhibition.

The curved shape of the bench reminds of the wingspan of a manta ray.

The frame is made of teak from Burma and features seats and backrests, which are shaped by red industrial mat.

Manta is the name of the bench.

The bench can be combined and set up next to each other and form a landscape of arches that invites to meetings between people.

Manta is the proof of mutual understanding and respect for each other’s professionalism.
