MOAI chair from Softline

The MOAI chair’s large shell is inspired by the soft shapes that a brick gets after many years of shedding on the beach.

This emphasizes the function of the chair as a haven from a busy day.

The MOIA chair is designed by Philip Bro for Softline A/S

The chair acts as a quiet four-legged room.

The chair’s characteristic notch around the armrest gives it identity and a comfortable backing point when you get back up.

From the side, the MOAI chair gets a distinctive expression, reminiscent of the huge facial sculptures on the Easter Islands.

The chair’s upholstered shell rests on a single metal cross that follows the soft shape of the chair and passes into four twisted wooden legs.

The MOAI lounge chair is a cave to hide in for a while.
