Sustainability is an increasingly larger part of the equation for good design. Therefore, it is exciting and inspiring to follow the annual FSC Design Award.
FSC Design Award is an innovative competition that challenges students of Danish design and architecture to think in new ways and combine sustainability with good design in wood.
This year the FSC Design Award is being awarded with Food & Home Prize in Aller media on Havneholmen at Kalvebod Brygge in Copenhagen.
The image above shows a contribution from last year’s competition.
Michael Daae Christensen and Frederik Colding Newman from the School of Architecture in Copenhagen designed the Babar Chair.
The chair is based on an old type of production with roots in the 70s, but re-imagined in a modern idiom.
It is expected that the distribution of prices will take place from 9 to 10 May – detailed program follow – follow on facebook.
