From March 14 to September 22, 2019, you can experience the exhibition about Finn Juhl and his unique design at the National Museum in Stockholm.
The exhibition is arranged in collaboration with Ordrupgaard and is the first major international exhibition about Finn Juhl in recent times.
The event marks the increasing international awareness of Finn Juhl and his work.
Finn Juhl is known as one of the most leading Scandinavian furniture designers in the 1940s to the 1960s.
In the 1950s, Finn Juhl got his big American breakthrough.
Among other things, the Academy Council at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts awarded Juhl the prestigious task of organizing the hall of The Council of Trustees in the United Nations headquarters in New York.
Today, the UN hall is considered to be the main work in Finn Juhl’s career.
Today, Finn Juhl’s furniture has won great international recognition, and significant works such as the two-person sofa the Poet (1941) and the Chieftain Chair (1949) are considered as design icons.
